Project Runway and Sausage Rolls

The Project Runway challenge this week was Bright Lights/Big City. Basically run around New York City at night and take a photo of something and then make a dress out of it. I do not understand how Kenley won with this hideously ugly dress...

It didn't relate at all to her photo that we could see...but then we're no kind of fashion experts. That didn't stop us from screaming at the TV when this was announced as the winner. Whaaaaaaaaaaat?? Puhlease!! If I had something in my hand, I would have thrown it.

It was quite heartbreaking for me...because I love tulle and pink. Oh well.

So I drag myself to work despite the terrible P.R. upset last night to find that my awesome Aussie coworker brought in 3 deliciously perfect homemade sausage rolls for me! What a treat! Check 'em out!

So I'm 12 again, just got home from school and having a snack in my mother's kitchen. Yummmmmmmm! Thanks PN!

I had the pleasure of photographing Alexandra a couple of weeks ago. She's such a cute little fairy. She had fun prancing around the rose garden and doing what pink-glitter-loving fairies do in her custom-made Fairy Cute tutu. Thanks Alexandra and Alexandra's mom! You are both beautiful!

Li'l David was born July 20, 2008 at 6.42pm, weighed 5lbs 10oz, and was 18 inches long. Here he is! Weeeeeeee!!

Grosgrain FABULOUS

While I sit and make fairy tutus for my gorgeous stepdaughters and FairyCute.com (coming soon), I find myself overflowing with creativity at the moment. For the first time in ages, I am enjoying the moment and not just wasting time it by doing nothing. I don't know how I end up in some of the places I do, but I have found some of the coolest websites lately and am feeling so inspired.

My favourite site at the moment is Grosgrain Fabulous. It's a blog from a self-confessed "artsy craftsy, penny pinching, party planning, playdating, fashion finding, sci-fi loving, stay at home mommy who always keeps her sewing machine plugged in and loves all things cute! " and she's my new hero! She has 2 little girls and from the looks of it, has closets overflowing with clothes she has made for both of them. She's having a Pinata Pinafore GIVEAWAY!!!!!!! at the moment.

If only I could have an inch of her talent! If only I could dust off my sewing machine and actually figure it out instead of letting it scare the pants off me!

Project Runway - Season 5

The highlight for me, of course, was the guest appearance of the divine Austin Scarlett. Oh how I absolutely adore him! There is some "discussion" in our house and differing opinions, but basically anyone who disses Austin while I'm around gets their botty spanked...and not in any kind of good way. One day, I shall have an Austin Scarlett original and I will never wear anything else again.

What do you get when you give a 14 month old a mini Swiffer? A clean floor!! She did such a great job, she's been commissioned to do it again this weekend. Bless her!
